Catch a Show

The Aztec Theatre is a historic venue located on the River Walk. This historical multi-purpose entertainment and events facility is located on the corner of Commerce Street and hosts a variety of events. Upcoming concerts include The Clairvoyants, Lauren Daigle, Los Lonely Boys, and Metric & ZoƩ.

The facility is considered to be a Meso-American architectural work of art and is one of the most cherished landmarks in the city of San Antonio. Even if you don’t watch a show at the venue, you may want to walk by and take a closer look at its beautiful exterior.

Take a Tour

The San Antonio River Walk is known for its tours. You can take a ghost tour to find out which areas are believed to be haunted, or keep it more family-friendly by taking a Segway tour of the streets that run along the river. If you’d rather relax while you enjoy your tour, book a spot on one of the barge tours that runs along the river. Throughout your tour, you’ll learn more about the area and get an insider’s glimpse into the aspects of the River Walk that make it so appealing.

Check Out the San Antonio Museum of Art

The San Antonio Museum of Art is located on the River Walk on West Jones Avenue. Admission is free on Tuesdays between 4 and 9 p.m. and on Sundays between 10 a.m. and noon. More than 5,000 years of art are on display in the many exhibits housed in this museum, including pieces from Harry Bertoia, sculptor and modernist designer; John Marin, a modern painter; and photographs from the Marie Brenner and Ernest Pomerantz collection.

This museum also hosts a variety of community events. Some are designed for families, such as art crawls and playdates, while others include lectures by distinguished scholars, art parties, and discussions of the museum’s highlights.

View the Tile Murals
