That’s why Honda has made its Sensing suite of technologies available in a wide range of its vehicles. Let’s take a look at the suite’s features and some of the Honda vehicles that have it.

What Is Honda Sensing?

Honda Sensing is an exclusive suite of safety and driver assistance technologies designed to alert you to potential obstacles and dangers that you might otherwise miss while driving. The suite’s collision mitigation braking system will alert you in the event of a potential forward collision and apply brake pressure as needed. If you start drifting out of your lane while driving your Honda, the road departure feature will adjust your steering. The lane keeping assist system also adjusts steering to keep the vehicle centered.

The adaptive cruise control will help you maintain a safe distance between your Honda and other vehicles on the road. You won’t get caught off guard by changing speed limits with the Sensing suite’s traffic sign recognition feature. The blind spot information system will alert you to any vehicles that may be out of view as you’re trying to change lanes. If you’re trying to back out of a parking space or driveway, the cross traffic monitor will alert you to any vehicles that are about to cross your path.

What Vehicles Come Equipped With Honda Sensing?

Whether you’re looking for a sporty sedan or a rugged SUV, you’re sure to find one that’s equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of technologies. The suite comes standard on such driver favorites as the 2019 Civic and 2019 Accord. If you’re considering an eco-friendly vehicle, the Honda Sensing suite is standard on all trim levels of the Insight Hybrid. As for SUVs, all trim levels of the Pilot and Passport feature the suite. You’ll also find the suite on the CR-V EX, EX-L, and Touring. The suite is standard on HR-V EX trim and above.

Of course, drivers of minivans want to keep their precious cargo safe, which is why Honda has included the Sensing suite in the Odyssey EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. Truck drivers will appreciate that the suite is featured on the Ridgeline RTL-E and Black Edition trims. Fans of the sporty Honda Fit will find the suite standard on the EX and EX-L. It’s also an option for the Fit LX and Sport.

The Future of Honda Sensing

Honda has committed to making the Sensing Suite available on all of its vehicles by the year 2022 with the goal of reducing and even eliminating all automotive collisions. The company also plans to add standard automatic emergency braking to at least 95% of the vehicles in its lineup, two years before such braking becomes mandatory.

Hopefully, you find this information to be helpful in deciding on your next new vehicle. If you’re interested in learning more about the Honda Sensing suite, consider taking a test drive and experience it yourself.
