Two children on their parents back smiling in a park | San Antonio, TXBy the time the end of the workday rolls around on Friday you are ready to get away. Leave your work at home, grab the family and enjoy some time together in San Antonio.

  1. The DoSeum

Kids of all ages are welcome to have fun at the hands-on DoSeum. Rather than a traditional, formal museum, this location is geared for kids. It lets you work together as a family to figure out how things work. Some of the fun things you can experience here include the Spy Academy and a little town.

There is an outdoor play area where kids can get out and run around. Bring home an art project as a reminder of your fun together. You can create one together or have everybody create one of their own in the art yard next to water works. Bring the family to explore everything on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from noon until five. They also have a special members-only hour on Sunday from 11 a.m. to noon. Tickets cost $14 for everybody one and up.

  1. Ripley’s

Do you need something to do with older kids? Grab everybody and head for Ripley’s! This adventure is actually a three-in-one attraction. Start your day by deciding if you want to explore Ripley’s Haunted Adventure, the Guinness World Records, or Tomb Raider 3D. They sell tickets for each attraction separately or you can combine two of them. For the best value of the weekend, consider exploring all three attractions for one price. Ripley’s opens at 10 a.m. seven days a week.

When you explore the Haunted Adventure you come face to face with some of the undead. This year-round haunted house is full of live actors. The World Records section lets you attempt to set your own record! The final part of the location is the Tomb Raider adventure. This 3D adventure puts you in the heart of the movie.

  1. Urban Trampoline Park

If your kids have a lot of pent up energy, bring them to the Urban Trampoline Park. You can enjoy some family fun while everybody burns off their extra energy. The park hosts open play hours Saturday from 10 a.m. to 11 p.m. and Sunday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Urban air socks are required and cost $2.50. Ticket prices vary depending on how many activities your kids want to explore. The best value is $24.99. Children five and under cost $8.99, but their access depends on their height. The park also offers a parent pass for $5.99 that gives you access to the same attractions as your kids. This is an excellent choice for kids of all ages.

Some of the attractions include basic trampolines and climbing walls. If you are feeling adventurous check out the ropes course or warrior obstacle course. There is also an indoor playground and pro-zone trampolines you can explore.

Don’t forget to bring your camera or your cellphone and portable charger to capture the memories you create on these family-friendly weekend adventures.
