Honda is a well-known brand in the automotive industry that delivers high-quality vehicles at reasonable prices. This company is also known for its commitment to technology and showcases all-new features in each model it releases. Check out the top technologies offered by Honda.

Evolution of Technology

Since Honda released its first vehicle in the mid-20th century, the company has continued to improve upon its offerings. Over the years, technology has gotten better, allowing Honda to manufacture innovative and reliable products that help improve people’s lives.

In 1969, Honda launched the H1300, which was known as the world-class super sedan. It was easy to market in every country of the world as it showcased an original design and plenty of features like an FF control system, 96 horsepower, and powerful brakes.

Less than a decade later, the company released the Accord, which was Honda’s second global model. This vehicle remains in production today and is still one of the best-selling sedans. Throughout history, Honda has played a major role in innovation and technological advancements.

Safety Features

One of the areas in which Honda has improved significantly is in the safety of its vehicles. The Honda SENSING technology is the brand’s safety package, which aims to realize a society free of collisions in which all drivers can share the roads safely. With the Honda SENSING driver-assist system, features include those designed to detect pedestrians, keep the vehicle in its lane, and support the driver.

Additionally, the technology helps to minimize blind spots, reducing the risk of an accident with a vehicle that is difficult to see, and prevent driver distractions. In order to work effectively, Honda SENSING uses a monocular camera and millimeter-wave radar to detect obstacles in front of the vehicle, as well as a rear-facing camera to provide a better look at what’s behind the car. Millimeter-wave radars are helpful in measuring speeds and distances in conditions with low visibility, while the cameras are more effective at identifying sizes and shapes of objects.

Efficient Technology

In 1999, Honda launched its first vehicles with hybrid powertrain technology. Since then, the company has continued to strive to improve this technology while expanding the lineup of models available. The most current technology is in Honda’s Sport Hybrid system, which includes several options. These include a one-motor Sport Hybrid unit with intelligent dual-clutch drive, a two-motor intelligent multi-mode drive system, and a three-motor Sport Hybrid system with excellent handling all-wheel drive (SH-AWD).

The models with the one-motor system include the Accord and the CR-V, while the two-motor system is found on the Fit. The Honda NSX currently boasts the top system with SH-AWD. In addition to its hybrid technology, Honda has continued to improve on the efficiency of the gas-powered engines found in other models within the lineup.
