Whether you drive a car, SUV, or minivan, you want to keep yourself and your passengers as safe as possible. That's why Honda has made its Sensing suite of technologies available in a wide range of its vehicles. Let's take a look at the suite's features and some of the Honda vehicles that have it.

What Is Honda Sensing?

Honda Sensing is an exclusive suite of safety and driver assistance technologies designed to alert you to potential obstacles and dangers that you might otherwise miss while driving. The suite's collision mitigation braking system will alert you in the event of a potential forward collision and apply brake pressure as needed. If you start drifting out of your lane while driving your Honda, the road departure feature will adjust your steering. The lane keeping assist system also adjusts steering to keep the vehicle centered. The adaptive cruise control will help you maintain a safe distance between your Honda and other vehicles on the road. You won't get caught off guard by changing speed limits with the Sensing suite's traffic sign recognition feature. The blind spot information system will alert you to any vehicles that may be out of view as you're trying to change lanes. If you're trying to back out of a parking space or driveway, the cross traffic monitor will alert you to any vehicles that are about to cross your path.

What Vehicles Come Equipped With Honda Sensing?

Whether you're looking for a sporty sedan or a rugged SUV, you're sure to find one that's equipped with the Honda Sensing suite of technologies. The suite comes standard on such driver favorites as the 2019 Civic and 2019 Accord. If you're considering an eco-friendly vehicle, the Honda Sensing suite is standard on all trim levels of the Insight Hybrid. As for SUVs, all trim levels of the Pilot and Passport feature the suite. You'll also find the suite on the CR-V EX, EX-L, and Touring. The suite is standard on HR-V EX trim and above. Of course, drivers of minivans want to keep their precious cargo safe, which is why Honda has included the Sensing suite in the Odyssey EX, EX-L, Touring, and Elite. Truck drivers will appreciate that the suite is featured on the Ridgeline RTL-E and Black Edition trims. Fans of the sporty Honda Fit will find the suite standard on the EX and EX-L. It's also an option for the Fit LX and Sport.

The Future of Honda Sensing

Honda has committed to making the Sensing Suite available on all of its vehicles by the year 2022 with the goal of reducing and even eliminating all automotive collisions. The company also plans to add standard automatic emergency braking to at least 95% of the vehicles in its lineup, two years before such braking becomes mandatory. Hopefully, you find this information to be helpful in deciding on your next new vehicle. If you're interested in learning more about the Honda Sensing suite, consider taking a test drive and experience it yourself. Image via Honda.com.

2027 Honda CR-V Gas vs. Hybrid

2027 Honda CR-V Gas vs. Hybrid: Which One Fits San Antonio Driving? For most San Antonio drivers, the 2027 Honda CR-V Hybrid is the better fit. It earns up to 40 combined MPG versus 30 MPG for the gas CR-V, and at San Antonio's September 2026 average of $3.79 per gallon, that difference is worth roughly $474 a year in fuel on a 2WD model driven 15,000 miles. The gas CR-V still makes sense if you want the lowest starting price ($31,520 MSRP), the most cargo space, or the higher 1,500-lb towing rating. Below, the Gunn Honda team breaks down the 2027 CR-V lineup trim by trim, runs the fuel math at local gas prices, and matches each version to the way people actually drive here, from the I-10 and Loop 1604 commute to weekend runs out to the Hill Country. 2027 Honda CR-V Gas vs. Hybrid: Key Differences at a Glance Every 2027 CR-V shares the same body, the same 106.3-inch wheelbase and the same standard Honda Sensing® safety suite. The real differences come down to powertrain, efficiency, cargo and towing: Power: The 2027 CR-V gas models use a 190-hp 1.5-liter turbocharged engine; the 2027 CR-V Hybrid models make 204 total system horsepower from a 2.0-liter engine and two electric motors. Fuel economy: The 2027 CR-V gas 2WD is EPA-rated at 30 MPG combined; the 2027 CR-V Hybrid 2WD is EPA-rated at 40 MPG combined. City driving: The gas CR-V 2WD is rated at 28 MPG city; the CR-V Hybrid 2WD is rated at 43 MPG city, a 15-MPG advantage in stop-and-go traffic. Starting price: The 2027 CR-V starts at $31,520 MSRP (LX 2WD); the 2027 CR-V Hybrid starts at $36,030 MSRP (Sport Hybrid 2WD). Cargo space: Gas CR-V models offer 39.3 cubic feet behind the second row; hybrid models offer 36.3 cubic feet. Towing: Gas CR-V models tow up to 1,500 pounds; hybrid models tow up to 1,000 pounds. AWD: Real Time AWD is available on every gas trim; on the hybrid side it is available on Sport and Sport-L and standard on TrailSport and Sport Touring. AAA reported the San Antonio average for regular unleaded at $3.79 per gallon on September 9, 2026, with the national average at $4.22, and AAA Texas estimated local drivers were paying about $14 more per fill-up of a mid-size vehicle than a year earlier. Using that local price, here is what a year of driving looks like: 2027 CR-V version EPA Comb. MP Gallons / Year Est. Annual Fuel Cost vs. Gas Equivalent Gas 2WD (LX, EX, EX-L) 30 500 $1,885 - Hybrid 2WD (Sport, Sport-L) 40 375 $1,421 Save ~$474 / yr Gas AWD (LX, EX, EX-L) 29 517 $1,960 - Hybrid AWD (Sport, Sport-L, Sport Touring) 37 405 $1,536 Save ~$424 / yr TrailSport Hybrid AWD 35 429 $1,624 Save ~$336 / yr If most of your driving is stop-and-go, the gap gets wider. Using the city ratings alone (28 MPG gas vs. 43 MPG hybrid, 2WD), 15,000 miles costs about $2,030 in a gas CR-V and $1,322 in a CR-V Hybrid, a difference of roughly $708 a year at $3.79 per gallon. The Price Gap Is Smaller Than You Might Think A hybrid doesn't have to cost thousands more. The 2027 CR-V EX-L 2WD lists at $35,800 MSRP; the 2027 CR-V Sport Hybrid 2WD lists at $36,030 MSRP, a $230 difference. The same $230 gap holds on the AWD versions ($37,300 vs. $37,530). The two trims are equipped differently, so compare the features that matter to you, but on price alone they sit side by side. Coming from the EX 2WD ($33,550), the Sport Hybrid 2WD is $2,480 more. At the combined-MPG savings above, that gap pays back in roughly five years of fuel; for drivers who mostly log city miles, it is closer to three and a half years. Worth knowing: Kelley Blue Book reported the average transaction price for a compact SUV at $37,722 in August 2026, and $50,089 for new vehicles overall. Every 2027 CR-V Hybrid 2WD trim starts below the compact SUV average, before destination. Why the CR-V Hybrid Works So Well in San Antonio Commutes that stop and go San Antonio workers average a 24.5-minute commute (U.S. Census Bureau), and much of that time is spent in the stop-and-go stretches of I-10, Loop 1604, Bandera Road and US-281. That is where a hybrid shines: the CR-V Hybrid's electric motors do much of the work at low speeds, which is why its city rating (43 MPG) is higher than its highway rating (36 MPG). If you commute to the Medical Center, downtown, La Cantera or Joint Base San Antonio, the hybrid's advantage builds every day. No plug, and no Texas EV fee The CR-V Hybrid charges itself as you drive, so there is nothing to plug in. It also isn't subject to the annual electric vehicle fee in Texas: the Texas Department of Motor Vehicles states that “the Electric Vehicle (EV) fee will not apply to hybrids.” You get much of the fuel savings of electrification with the same registration process as a gas car. Made for Texas summers NOAA confirmed summer 2026 as the hottest meteorological summer in 132 years of U.S. records, and San Antonio was still hitting 100°F in mid-September. Every 2027 CR-V comes with features that help in the heat: Rear Seat Reminder is standard on every trim, and EX trims and above add key-fob remote engine start, so you can get the climate control running before you climb in. A Qi wireless charging pad is also standard across the lineup. Hill Country weekends For drives out to Boerne, New Braunfels, Canyon Lake or the Guadalupe River, the 2027 CR-V TrailSport Hybrid comes standard with Real Time AWD, all-terrain tires and 8.2 inches of ground clearance (AWD), while still earning 35 MPG combined. It is the CR-V built for gravel ranch roads, river put-ins and caliche parking lots. Which 2027 CR-V Is Right for You? You commute daily across town: Sport Hybrid 2WD. The lowest-priced hybrid, with the best city fuel economy in the lineup (43 MPG). You're a family in Alamo Ranch, Helotes or Stone Oak: Sport-L Hybrid. Hybrid efficiency with a more upscale interior and 41 inches of rear legroom for car seats and growing kids. You head to the Hill Country most weekends: TrailSport Hybrid. Standard AWD and all-terrain tires. You tow a small utility trailer or personal watercraft: a gas CR-V (LX, EX or EX-L), rated to tow up to 1,500 pounds versus 1,000 pounds for hybrids. You want the most cargo room: a gas CR-V. 39.3 cubic feet behind the second row and 76.5 cubic feet with the rear seats folded. You want the lowest entry price: the LX 2WD, starting at $31,520 MSRP with Honda Sensing®, a 9-inch touchscreen and wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. You want everything: Sport Touring Hybrid. Standard AWD, Google built-in and a 12-speaker Bose® premium audio system. Always tow within the limits listed in your owner’s manual. It recharges its battery while you drive and brake, and it fills up at any gas station. Does Texas charge the $200 EV fee on the CR-V Hybrid?
